Single Panel Radiators & Double Panel Radiators at Plumbworld...

Different room sizes have different heating requirements, so not all panel radiators are suitable for the same room. If your room is smaller or doesn’t get particularly cold, our Single Panel Radiators - Type 11 will be perfectly suitable. If, however, you have a large room or particularly cold room, our Double Panel Radiators - Type 21 might be better. The difference lies in the number of panels giving off heat inside the radiator. If you really want to ramp up the heat, our Double Panel Plus Radiators - Type 22 increases the heat output again.

All our radiators come with pre-fitted side panels and a top grill with easy to install fixings brackets included within the package. All connections are of a standard UK size too so plumbing it into your central heating system is easy, plus you’ll be covered with a fantastic 10-year guarantee.

How do I select the right panel type (Type 11, 21, 22 or 33) for my room?

Look at how cold or large the room is and match that to the number of panels and convectors. Type 11 (single panel) is fine for smaller or well‑insulated rooms, Type 21 (double panel, one convector) gives more warmth, Type 22 (double panel, two convectors) is a common choice for living rooms, and Type 33 (triple panel, triple convector) is for very cold or large spaces. a modest bedroom will often be comfortable with a 600 x 1300mm Type 11, while an open‑plan lounge might need a 600 x 1600mm Type 22 to hit the higher BTU band. Each step up increases depth and output, so balance the heat you need with how far the radiator will project from the wall.

How do the radiator dimensions affect heat output and which sizes are most common?

Heat output rises as width and height increase and as you move from single to double or triple panel convectors, which is why our range lets you filter by BTU bands (3000–3999 or 4000–4999). Common heights are 600mm and 500mm, while widths frequently range from 500mm up to 1600mm and beyond; a 600 x 1200mm Type 22 will typically sit in a mid‑range BTU band suitable for many living rooms. Use the BTU filter to match the output you need, and remember taller or wider radiators can achieve the same heat output in a slimmer profile if wall space is limited.

Can a vertical panel radiator heat a narrow space as effectively as a horizontal one?

Yes, vertical radiators simply trade width for height, so you can get similar heat output by increasing the height and number of convectors. The range includes vertical options up to around 2000mm tall, so a tall Type 22 vertical can deliver comparable BTUs to a shorter horizontal model such as 600 x 1200mm. Vertical styles are great for narrow walls or to make a design statement while still meeting your room's heat requirement.

Which brands and finishes give the best balance of style and value?

The range includes value and premium brands like K‑Rad, Solaro and Stelrad, so you can match budget to finish and performance,K‑Rad and Solaro offer excellent mid‑range options, while Stelrad includes higher‑spec and LST models. Finishes shown include classic white and contemporary colours such as anthracite and black; darker finishes tend to cost a bit more but give a modern look, the Solaro anthracite and black Type 21/22 models. Look at the price bands and the product spec so you don't pay extra for a finish or performance level you don't need.

Are panel radiators suitable for bathrooms and what should you look for?

Yes, there are bathroom‑friendly options, including compact and LST (low surface temperature) ranges and towel radiator variations for drying. For bathrooms you'll often pick shorter widths or special LST models, and materials/finishes that handle moisture; the Stelrad LST and compact ranges are designed with bathroom safety and space in mind. Also note that many panel radiators come with pre‑fitted side panels, a top grill and standard UK connection sizes, so the product you buy will be specified for typical central‑heating systems.
