I have ordered this seat through Plumbworlds ebay shop on the 30th of September after being recommended by the quality and reviews on the main website itself.
It arrived today and it is actually real oak, I had it for £38 on ebay, they must have a deal on at the moment as of this review, it is usually £50/£60 so can be expensive but reasonably priced considering the wood and other places they go for around £100 onwards, however I restore retro bathrooms especially coloured ones so not all the toilets have seats and always looking for suitable replacements and this was the place to come.
The seat looks great, early days yet regarding how long it will last but considering it's proper oak it should last.
Hinges seem good quality as well, nice heavy classic looking seat however they will look even better on an old art deco toilet from the 70s and prior.
If you want a proper well made top quality good seat this is it right here, also they do a pine seat as well so check it out.
I ordered another oak seat as of this review and I am happy with how it looks on my retro red toilet.

I’ve been looking for a solid oak loo seat to replace the one I’ve had for 15 years and not been able to find one until now and at a very good price considering it is solid wood. It arrived well packed after a few days. It took all but 10 minutes to readjust the fittings so seat stays up ( never up in my house) and it fits just great. It appears to be solid and very well made and is warm and comfortable. I’ll be back as now want to replace various taps. I ended up speaking to Jack who helped solve an issue.
