Grundfos Amazon 2.0 Bar Twin Impeller Positive Head Shower Pump - STP-2.0 B

Just what my shower needed!

My 16 year old ShowerForce EasyBoost pump started to leak. I'm very pleased I chose to replace it with a Grundfos Watermill Amazon 2.0 Bar Twin Positive Head STP-2.0B brass pump. Plumbworld, kept me informed by email about delivery and the pump was very well packed. The pump installation was straight forward but I redesigned the 22mm pipework in my airing cupboard to allow for a possible future feed to a second shower room; this required careful design. I fitted Pegler full bore lever valves to the tops of each of the 4 supplied flexible tails to make isolation for periodic cleaning of the pump filters a simple matter. I placed the pump on a 300mm x 300mm x 25mm granite paving slab and insulated this from the wooden floor boards with strips of "P" profile 3-5mm gap Stormguard EDPM door/window seal. The bathroom is next to the airing cupboard and the shower head is 330mm below the bottom of the cold water tank. With the pump fitted, but switched off, flow through the Pegler Mimo thermostatic mixer valve (min. 0.1 Bar) and Groher eco (min. 1 Bar input and restricted 9 l/min flow rate) shower head was approx. 0.7 litres per minute. When the pump is switched on and the shower valve is opened, the pump starts fine and delivers approx. 8 l/m. The noise of the old pump was much louder than the sound of water from the shower head but the new Grundfos pump cannot be heard over the sound of the shower water. The noise from the pump in an adjacent bedroom is no longer intrusive and would be unlikely to disturb a sleeping child.

Great shower pump

This is a great shower pump. I bought it to replace a plastic bodied pump bought from a DIY store a couple of years ago. That pump failed leaving water leaking through the ceiling of the room below. I ordered this pump because it had great reviews and haven't been disappointed, it is much quieter than the pump it replaced and much more powerful. The push fit connections make fitting it into an existing installation a breeze, I hardly even needed the toolbox. Plumbworld had the best price for this unit and have given great service with quick delivery, they even accommodated my request to change delivery location when I realised I wouldn't be around to accept delivery at the original address. I'm hoping the pump gives long and trouble free service.

Excellent Service and Great Pump

Very impressed with the superb service supplied by Plumbworld. Everything was very smooth and easy to do and the delivery was fast. The pump itself replaced an older grunfos wasp pump which I'd had for at least 10 years. This pump is a lot quieter than the previous one, so much so that I had to check it was on as I didn't hear it!! It allows both showers in the house to be used at the same time with no apparent drop in pressure. Grundfos are well established and I know I could have got a cheaper pump but you pay for what you get and in my humble opinion Grundfos is a reliable make. Overall extremely pleased with the purchase and the professional way that Plumbworld dealt with the whole process from start to finish. Would definitely highly recommend.

Great Pump and service from Plumbworld

I ordered this pump to replace an old Aura45 that was in the house when we moved in 8 years ago it was very loud heard all over the house. What a difference really quiet when running should keep others sleeping on those early starts. Solid brass finish worth the bit extra and 5 year cover. I fitted full bore valves as nothing there before for maintenance, bit of pipe repositioning needed as flex hoses fairly rigid. Really impressed with the service from Plumbworld called them up to check manufacturer part number, as was given this from Grundfos ordered over the phone and arrived next day as promised via DHL.

A powerful pump

With the help of my plumber I selected this pump to replace an existing 2 bar pump and its performance is by far better than that of the previous pump even though it is sited in the loft and a long way from the hot water cistern (the worst possible place for a shower pump). I am very pleased with the purchase. It is also quieter than the previous pump.

Quality kit

I wanted to change my old 1.5 bar salamander pump serving a single shower to an uprated pump to serve two showers. Having compared the specs; reviews and prices of various pumps I decided to go for the Grundfoss watermill Amazon 2 bar pump. I was not disappointed, I could see immediately this pump was a well engineered piece of quality kit.

Previously had 1.5 single model.That developed a leak after 11years and a second shower added in November.This model is a lot neater and certainly quieter,2.0bar twin impeller is a big improvement !! ORdering was simple and delivered as promised. Excellent service alround and after sales follow up. Will definitely use you again.

a little giant

I replaced a 3bar pump that had started sounding even noisier than normal. This unit is a pleasure to own, its quiet and nearly as powerful as the 3 bar it replaced. Highly recommend this unit, and with the 5 year warranty it even puts your mind at ease.

Grundfos watermill amazon twins impeller shower pump

purchased this to replace old pump which lasted 5 years, this pump with its all brass construction is leagues above my old pump a lot more robust and far far less noisy, would recommend this pump to anyone and plumb world delivery was first class

Really fast service from the web purchase. Well packaged delivery. Pump is so quiet! Bigger than our old cheap pump so needed to replumb the install to fit the old pipe configuration but no doubts we made the right choice!

Very nice shower pump

very nice make and solid build. swapped this for a different type of pump that was leaking and being very noisy. its worth paying a little extra, pump is very quiet and works great. delivery was very fast and swift .

Works very well !!

A replacement for a similar model that was installed about 10 yrs ago so I hope this lasts as well!! New model was easy to install and has proved quieter than the previous model but still as powerful. Excellent!!

Good shower pump

This shower pump is great, plumber said it was really easy to fit and is really quiet compared to our old Grundfos pump. Dispatched and arrived really quickly with good communication re delivery.

Great booster

Delivery was very timely and within days of ordering. I picked this pump as I wanted to provide additional water supplies to 2 showers. One in the main bathroom and the other in the ensuite bathroom. Installation instructions very clear. I installed the pump in the airing cupboard next to the hot water cylinder, so the hot water inlet supply from the cylinder was easy to rig in 22mm copper pipe. The cold supply came from the header tank above, via a straight run down the wall. The discharge pipes from the pump were vertically up to the loft space and over to the bathroom shower. I installed 2 off 22mm tees to branch off to the ensuite shower. Cold to pump and hot and cold from pump all in 22mm speedfit piping. This pump certainly makes a great difference to the showers as we now have power showers in both bathrooms. I can most definitely recommend this to anyone seeking a similar solution to poor water flows/pressures.

Much Improved Replacement Pump

I purchased this pump to replace two previous Grundfos plastic pumps of the same capacity. The plastic pumps were noisy and the last one started to leak, they had to be replaced after 2-3 years. This new pump is very quiet by comparison and is a much more substantial piece of kit which I anticipate will provide much better service over a much longer period. The only downside was the new pump had to be re-plumbed.

Plenty of pressure but noisy

Install is straightforward but having used a 40mm concrete slab base as recommended by Grundfos there is quite a drone coming from the airing cupboard where the pump is located. Otherwise I am pleased with the shower pressure and my wife has stopped complaining, which is always a bonus!

Good value

This pump was purchased to replace a Bristan HYPUMP100 which is no longer available, it is the same size and and was fitted without having to alter the pipework.
