Our Pivot shower doors are available in a range of sizes from 760mm right up to 1800mm so no matter the width we’ll have something that not only fits but looks great too. Pivot doors function in exactly the way you would imagine, with a pivot mechanism fitted to one side allowing the door of the shower enclosure to swing freely for ample entry space and easy access.

Will a pivot shower door fit a 3-sided alcove and how do you pick the right width?

Pivot doors are designed for 3-sided alcove layouts rather than corner fittings, so they're a natural choice if your shower sits between two walls. Measure the finished opening and match it to one of the standard widths available here, common options run from 700mm, 760mm and 800mm up to 900mm and 1000mm, and there are larger models up to 1800mm. If your opening is 760mm, select the 760mm door or a 760 x 760mm tray-and-door set to ensure a neat fit. Allow a few millimetres for adjustment if the product specification lists an installation tolerance.

How much room do you need for the pivot door to open comfortably?

A pivot door swings on a hinge fitted to one side and needs clear floor space equal to the door width to open freely, so plan for that footprint in your bathroom. an 800mm pivot door will require about 800mm of swing clearance in front of the enclosure when it's open. If space is tight, consider a narrower door such as 700mm or 760mm, or a layout where the door swings into an area that remains unobstructed.

Which shower tray type should you choose for your floor, low profile, raised or non-slip?

Match the tray profile to your floor construction: choose Low Profile trays if you have void beneath the floorboards and need room for pipework; pick Raised trays when you install on a solid concrete floor and need the tray to sit above the waste pipe. If safety is a priority, select Low Profile Non Slip or Raised Non Slip models that feature textured surfaces to reduce slipping. if you're refurbishing a ground-floor bathroom on concrete, a Raised Non Slip tray gives both pipe clearance and extra grip.

Is 4mm or 6mm glass better for a pivot shower door?

Six millimetre glass is the more common and robust option here, most pivot doors in our range use 6mm glass while 4mm appears on a few budget models. Thicker 6mm glass feels firmer in daily use and suits taller enclosures of 1850mm to 2000mm for greater stability. Choose 4mm only if you need a lighter, lower-cost option and your enclosure is less frequently used.

Which frame finish and glass treatments should you pick to match style and maintenance needs?

Think about both look and upkeep: chrome is a classic, easy-to-coordinate choice; black gives a bold contemporary statement; brushed brass adds a warm, designer feel. If you want lower maintenance, opt for models with easy-clean glass, there are around 16 options with that coating, which reduces limescale build-up. pair a black-framed 760mm door with easy-clean 6mm glass if you want a modern look combined with simpler cleaning.
