Timer controlled
Extractor fans with a built-in timer control means that the fan will operate with the bathroom light switch and then overrun for a set amount of time to continue removing moisture from the air. This is great for steamy bathrooms, allowing you to turn the light off but continue with extraction for a short time.
Recessed Design
Recessed fans can be installed through a wall, window or alternatively the ceiling giving you that extra bit of flexibility.
Axial
Axial type fans cause gas to flow through in an axial direction which is parallel to the shaft where the blades rotate, making the flow axial at exit and entry. Axial fans are designed to create a pressure difference and force which produces a flow through the fan.
IPX4 Rating
This product has a rating of IPX4 which means it is protected from water splashes from any angle.
Zone 1 Rated
IP rating stands for 'Ingress Protection rating' and this helps us determine what bathroom electricals can go in particular bathroom zones. An IP (Ingress Protection) number or code is used here in the UK to specify the environmental protection of enclosures around electronic equipment. These ratings are determined by specific tests.

Use in Kitchen and Utility
This type of fan is suitable for use in a kitchen and utility room to give you an excellent flow rate.
The new Simply Silent fans from Xpelair feature the ability to set one of two speeds during installation providing you with two different extraction rates, 53 or 74 cubic m/hr. With two extraction rates you get two noise levels (22 and 34 decibels), the lower being marginally louder than rustling leaves. It also features an overrun timer to allow operation to continue for a set time after the light has been turned off.
High levels of moisture mixed with anything electrical can be very dangerous and suitable protection must be given. The rating used for this is known as an IP (Ingress Protection) rating and advises where in the bathroom the device can be installed. These fans are IPX4 rated which offers protection from water sprayed from any direction.

Great Extract Fan
This Extract Fan is absolutely brilliant. Has high & low setting. Easy to connect electrical connections. It is that quiet my colleague who is 78 years old thought it wasn't running (working) when we turned the power back on (22dbs a whisper). Fabulous price too, check on Screwfix loads more expensive.

Replacement fan.
Fitted in a en-suite shower room, very, very quiet yet still did the job on the lowest speed setting. Night & day compared to the old unit ( not Epelair ) Would definitely buy again especially at the lowest price I could find ( Plumbworld)
