Positive Head
Positive head shower pumps are for gravity-fed systems only. As a rule, if your cold-water tank is above the shower (maybe you have a shower in a converted room downstairs) and you have a flow rate as little as 0.5 bar, then you will need a positive head shower pump.

Crossover
This pump features an innovatively designed bypass tube which diverts the water from the end of the pump that isn’t pumping water. This can happen when one tap is switched off when a bath or basin is being filled, so the crossover is there to stop the expansion from overheating on the side of the pump which doesn’t contain any water.

RP75PT is only suitable for positive head, gravity fed systems. Installing in a negative head system will mean the pump may not work.

A Quiet Pump
After my regenerative 2 bar pump gave up the ghost I decided to replace it with this one. The pump is located next to the hot water tank in a bedroom. This pump is quiet enough not do disturb someone sleeping in that bedroom unlike the other pump. This also pumps a larger volume of water than the regenerative pump it replaced. The first pump supplied was faulty, one of the centrifugal chambers had a crack that leaked as soon as the water was turned on and before it was plugged in. I reported this to Plumbworld who dispatched a replacement pump which arrived the next day. It has been running flawlessly for about 4 weeks and I am very happy, especially with the service from Plumbworld.

Excellent quiet pump.
This pump replaced the older Salamander pump which I had for around 15 years. The new pump is incredibly quiet in comparison and delivers an excellent pressure to our shower. They are relatively easy to install, but this time it was just a straight swap. I found this pump to be slightly wider than the old one mainly because the electronic control box on the top is larger.If it lasts as well as the last pump (which was probably repairable with new seals) I would say it is an excellent quality buy.
Excellent product
Our previous Salamander pump gave up after 15 years of supplying 2 sent within 24 hours of me sending pics of the damage. This is the newer, equivalent model and is powerful, yet quieter than the one it replaced. Delivered quickly, though damaged (thrown around by delivery firm ?) - however a replacement was quickly sent.
Salamander Shower Pump RP75PT
First read the specification booklet that is available. This is very helpful and ensures that you order the correct pump version. The RP75PT is supplied with four flexible anti-vibration push-fit 22mm couplings that are easy to install. The pump runs quietly and switches on and off exactly when required.

Replacement pump
Our old pump failed and we bought this as a direct replacement. Fitting was straightforward and the pump works fine. It’s much quieter than the old one and we realise now the old one had been failing for a while as the hot water is much hotter now
