Measure the internal floor space of your enclosure and leave a few millimetres for trimming and sealant; common tray lengths run from 700mm up to 2000mm, with popular combinations like 1200 x 800mm, 1400 x 800mm or 1700 x 700mm. For a small corner enclosure an 800 x 800mm or 900 x 800mm square/offset quadrant works well, while a walk‑in shower usually benefits from a rectangular tray such as 1700 x 800mm for more standing room. Match the tray’s shortest and longest sides to your enclosure profile so doors and panels can sit flush. If your plumbing limits where the waste can go, check the available waste positions before you order.

What’s the practical difference between low profile, raised and deep shower trays?

Low profile trays (typically 25–45mm high) sit almost level with the floor for a sleek, easy‑access look, ideal for modern bathrooms and wet rooms. Raised trays (around 90–140mm) give you extra depth for routing waste pipes under the tray without digging into the floor, useful if you can’t lower joists. Deep or deep‑profile trays offer more internal water capacity and can suit shower systems that need more fall; they’re less suited if you want a step‑free entry. Pick the height that matches your floor construction and accessibility needs.

How do materials affect durability, feel and maintenance?

Acrylic‑capped resin and acrylic‑capped ABS trays are lightweight, easy to clean and competitively priced, making installation simpler; they have a shiny, low‑maintenance surface.
