Start by looking at wall space and the room's layout, wide radiators (600 x 1010mm or 600 x 1460mm) suit long walls and beneath windows, while tall vertical radiators (such as 1800 x 560mm or 1600 x 380mm) work when floor space is tight. If you have a small bathroom, a compact option like 300 x 605mm gives warmth without dominating the room. Think about where pipes run and whether you need extra drying bars, then match a size that fits that wall with some clearance either side.

Double-bar column radiators have two rows of columns and are slimmer, giving good heat for most rooms while staying less obtrusive. Triple-bar versions add a third row, increasing surface area and heat output and giving more bars to hang towels on. If you want faster drying and stronger heat in a bathroom or utility room, a triple-bar Colosseum model is practical; for a living room where looks matter as much as warmth, a double-bar can be neater.

Choose a vertical Colosseum radiator when you have narrow wall space or want a statement feature, a vertical 1800 x 560mm fits a hallway or narrow bathroom wall. Go horizontal when you have under‑window space or a wide wall to fill, such as 600 x 1190mm or 600 x 1460mm. Vertical models save floor length, horizontal models give a broader, more traditional heat spread.
